Today’s review is the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam with Scoria and Green Complex. This is a really good cleanser and exfoliator that I recently re-purchased. It’s a nice mild, deep cleansing foam that will leave your face feeling clean and fresh. I’m not sure what the ‘Green Complex’ part is but the ‘Scoria’ refers to the exfoliating beads it has in it. On the front of the tube it also says ‘Purfiy pores and clean skin dull-looking.’
The packaging is very Innisfree, simple and to the point. They don’t do anything too fancy but it looks clean and stylish. It comes in a 150ml tube which will last you a decent amount of time.
It’s a product that is selling the natural, clean, green image of Jeju Island. Jeju is called the ‘Hawaii’ of Korea, it’s a small island know for it’s mandarin oranges and fresh produce. I went there for a holiday a few years ago, it’s really nice but I went in winter and it’s more of a summer place. It’s very tourist orientated with lots of shows, museums and tourist parks.
The island is also know for being volcanic which is where this scrub come in. Mt Halla is a central feature of the island and is a dormant volcano. There has not been any volcanic activity for hundreds of years but because of Mt Halla the island is covered with volcanic rock and soil.
Look, feel and smell:
This is a creamy cleanser, it has a thick consistency when it comes out of the tube and it has little brown exfoliating beads in it. Now one thing to note is these are not plastic micro-beads that clog up the environment. They are natural volcanic scoria, I checked them while doing this post and they crush up immediately when you push them between your fingers so they are very mild.
I think it smells really nice, but very subtle and maybe slightly floral. It’s like the smell of fresh, clean soap.
It foams up easily into a creamy lather and leaves your face feeling fresh and clean but not shiny like some more intense exfoliators.
On the bottle it says to put an appropriate amount onto wet hands and work into a rich lather. After massaging rinse of with lukewarm water
I like it because it is quite mild, I like the beads because I do enjoy that scrubing feeling but I don’t want to damage my skin or the environment. I like that the beads are organic they quickly dissipate and it’s not laden with them so it’s much more gentle than many exfoliators.
I have a few different cleansers that I use as I like to change it up depending on what my skin needs for the day. This is one that I use frequently and would recommend for anyone looking for a nice mild cleansing foam with a bit of exfoliating power.
