These are actually the result of a couple of different purchases of IPKN products from Gmarket over the past couple of months. Since I had not put it up anywhere else I figured that I may as well just bundle it together into one post. I’ve linked all of the products below to where I bought them from on Gmarket.
I’m really liking this brand at the moment, the packaging is nice and they have some interesting products. I would probably call it drugstore quality. It’s quite cheap although a few things were a bit more pricey.
I originally just got the lipsticks and sun block but then went back and got the pact and the balm. I have since seen the pacts in Olive Young but nothing else from their range. In future I would try out the pact there so I can see it and smell it in store.
IPKN Pore Apple Sun Block SPF50+ PA+++ UVA/UVB (26,000 won)
It’s coming into summer now in Korea so back in April when I saw this I thought it looked quite interesting and I don’t have a facial sun block. I love the smell of apple and the fact that it is specifically designed for pores made me even more intrigued.
On the box it says ‘Multi-tasking pore essence formula controls T-Zone area and tightens the look of pores. Light weight sun block with the patented ice apple ingredient provides powerful protection against the full spectrum of UVA and UVB radiation.’
It’s also marketed at a make up base, so it’s specially made to go under your foundation. This is nice if you are looking for an SPF base. Most of my BB creams have SPF in them but often foundations don’t so this would be a good way to ensure that your skin is protected.
It feels very light weight so that is nice, I don’t like anything too heavy on my face. The smell is really mild, just fresh and fruity. I think this is going to be good for the summer.
I saw these and thought they looked so pretty, I just had to have some. Lucky they had a 1+1 event because I thought that 14,900 won was a bit much for one.
They are probably more of a lip balm than a real lipstick and on the box it says ‘A color-enriched moisturizing lipstick delivers brilliant shine and maxi-volume finish while protecting and nourishing the lips all day long.‘
The formula is nice and smooth and just a little bit glossy, you can see by the swatches that the Glow Pink is almost translucent, it’s just a very light pink but it’s one of those ones that gets darker on contact with your skin. Berry Ade is much brighter and a really nice fun pink.
IPKN Natural Origin 100 Hero Balm (7,900 won)
This is one of those multi-function balms that you can use anywhere on your body for moisturizing. I always like to try out these kind of products you never know when you might find a treasure.
It has a herby smell to it, if you have ever smelt the Burt’s Bees Res-q Ointment then that’s what it smells like, although maybe just a tad more mild that the Burt’s Bees one. I am guessing that means it has a lot of the same ingredients in it. It’s quite convenient being in a tube like this, means you don’t have to get it on your fingers like with ones in pots.
IPKN Skin Finish Pact in shade 21 With refill (12,900 won)
I have been on the lookout for a new pressed powder compact so I thought I might try this brand. I’ve liked the other products that I have so far. It’s a bit hard to choose online as there are a few different options, I just went with the one that looked like it would fit my needs best. As I mentioned above I have now seen these in Olive Young so I would go there to try them out in future.
Buying blind works out sometimes but in this case it has quite a strong smell which is not my favourite thing in a good compact. It’s not a bad smell, it’s perfumed to smell like berries so not unpleasant but just not what I’m looking for either.
It’s more my fault than anything else, I should have spent more time investigating but I’m an impulse buyer.
