K-Beauty Expo – Skederm Lifting Patch for Face and Chin Line

Today I am reviewing some facial lifting patches from a company called Skederm. I have used some of these types of patches before but only for review purposes. I’ve never bought them myself and probably never would. Not that I think they are bad or anything; it’s just not something that I feel would work for my needs. I don’t mind testing them out and checking what they are all about so if you want to know more please keep reading.

First off a little about the brand it’s self. Skederm seems to make Kbeauty products mainly for the US market. They sell in both Korea and America and have their head offices in Seoul. All products are developed and then tested and analyzed vigorously. They hold clinical trials and only sell products that are verified. Skederm also has a range of other products including creams and serums. You can check out more on their website here.

These patches that we were sent come in a box of 5. The lifting patch is supposed to help to increase firmness and elasticity. It’s clinically proven to be effective in facial lifting. They retail on the skederm website (skederm.co.kr) for 20,000 won or (skederm.com) for US$19.95. You can also find this brand at LOHBs in Korea.

They are hydrogel patches that fit tightly under your chin and loop around your ears. The idea is that with continued use it will help to tighten and lift the face. It’s supposed to give you a slimmer looking jawline. They suggest leaving it on for 20-30 minutes but you can leave it for up to an hour if you want to. They do also suggest using it in the morning to get rid of a puffy face. You can put it on for 30 mins while you are getting ready and doing your hair.

When you take it out of the pouch there are two sides. One is the hydrogel sticky part that you are going to put onto your skin and the other is a velvety material. The hydrogel part is covered with a plastic film that you need to peel off. There are two holes at either end where you hook it around your ears. You can make the ear holes bigger if you need to by cutting the holes slightly with scissors. I didn’t bother but it might have made it a it more comfortable.

I have quite a round face and I basically not much of a jawline at the moment. I was not really expecting this to do anything but as I mentioned I’m happy to try them out. I was really not thinking that they would even fit me because when you take it out of the pouch it looks quite small. I was surprised to find how stretchy it was.  I was able to stretch it out to fit me without too much trouble.

Once it is on it feels very tight and it pulls on my ears a bit. I think if you had a smaller face it would be a lot more comfortable. However it was not as bad as others I have tried and you only have to wear it for 20 to 30 minutes which is not too bad. I did like that these were quite sticky so they stayed on the skin really well. The hydrogel felt nice and cool too.

It has ingredients such as adenosine and hydrolysed collagen which are used to reduce wrinkles and improve elasticity. Then it also has aloe vera juice, glycerine and betaine to help moisturize the skin.

These are the type of products that you have to use regularly if you want to see results. You would have to buy 2 or 3 boxes and at 20,000 won a box that is a bit of a commitment. However it is cheaper and less invasive than clinical options. Of course it also won’t give you the same dramatic results as a clinic. If you have a big event coming up and just want a bit of firming or de-puffing then it might be something worth looking at. Alas this one wasn’t for me.

These were sent to me by the K-Beauty Expo Korea for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
